statement

Nomadic for the last three years, I find stillness not in the tangible formality of four walls and a roof, but in the intricacies and rhythms of life that surrounds me.  The cadence of waves. The rustle of leaves on the wind. The repetitive pace of boots on the ground, traversing distance on foot; shockwaves rippling up through my feet, legs, body, brain. Cold water on bare skin. Fingerprints - not mine, not anyone I know’s - smudged on a steamy glass window. The same sounds. The same smells. The same shapes, repeated. Regardless of company or place, they continue to offer a resting place for my grief, longing, and growth. It is these small parcels of time that I aim to capture and share through still images, clay pinched through my fingers, and the movement of my body in space.
